COMBINED SWIMMING CARNIVAL 2025 - IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Following the success of this year’s combined cross-country carnival with Collinsvale Primary, we are excited to share that this year’s swimming carnival (optional for Year 3-6 students) will also be combined between both schools. This is another opportunity for our students to enjoy some friendly competition and build on the connections we have made between our wider school communities.
Our combined swimming carnival is an optional event for years 3, 4, 5 and 6 that are confident 25m and 50m swimmers. Teaming up means we can create a lively and fun atmosphere where everyone gets involved, cheer each other on, and celebrate their efforts. It’s all about challenging ourselves, supporting one another, and embracing school spirit!
Here’s what you need to know:
Date & Time: Wednesday 15th October (Term 4 Week 1) at the New Norfolk Pool from 12:30pm-2pm
Students attending: Students attending will still be required to wear their full school uniforms and will need to bring, a packed recess and lunch, water, hat, bathers, towel, plastic bag for wet clothes and as per our Sun Smart Policy, rash-vest or t-shirt. Sunscreen will be provided at the pool. Swimming caps will not be provided, we encourage you to bring your own – at the SPSSA swimming carnival, students are required to wear swimming caps. While students are not racing they will be required to wear their hat and be in the shade. The pool cost for students will be covered by the schools.
Students will leave school at approximately 12:00pm, travel by bus to the New Norfolk Pool and return in time for normal end of day (approximately 2:15pm).
On the day if you are intending to take your child home from New Norfolk Pool at the completion of the Swimming Trials please see Mrs Smith so we can check them off our list.
Families Welcome! Come to the Pool, cheer on our students, and enjoy the day. Parents/carers are more than welcome to come and support our students. Parents wishing to attend may need to pay an entry fee.
If you do come along and are taking photos of your children, make sure that other children are not in the photo/background. To protect all our students participating, please do not film the races; not all our students have photo permissions.
Ribbons and Certificates: Similar to our combined cross-country carnivals earlier in the year, each school will issue separate ribbons and certificates. Although students will compete together, results will be tracked separately for each school. This way, students from each school have the opportunity to challenge one another, and everyone gets the chance to be recognised for their achievements.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to message Miss Kathryn Gourlay via Seesaw or by calling our School Office.
