WOOLWORTHS CRICKET BLAST NEW NORFOLK SCHOOL CUP
On the last day of Term 1 our 3/4, 4/5 and 5/6 classes jumped onto a bus ready to play some cricket at Tynwald Park! It was a scorching day; I’m sure Tim Paine would say perfect conditions for some cricket! We entered 9 mixed Molesworth teams into the New Norfolk School cup and played against 5 other schools from the Derwent Valley area! It was great to see the Molesworth Spirit come alive with a lot of positive encouragement from our teams. Each team played 3 games throughout the day. At lunch time two of our year 6 students were selected to represent our school for the highest catch competition. With a heavy focus on cricket in the lead up to this event in PE, it was awesome to see Hamish and Alona make the final two!
Here are some of our thoughts about the day:
I liked the hot weather! I enjoyed batting - Cooper
I liked all of it! Batting was my favourite - Claire
I enjoyed watching the high catching – Aiden
I liked competing against other schools – Ria
I like when you could hit the ball really far! – Riley
I liked batting. It was both easy and hard! – Ella
It was a fun trip! It was good to get outside - Hamish
Well done to all our students on a lovely last day of term 1.
