PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
FROM OUR PRINCIPAL MRS LEANNE SMITH
Another very busy 2 weeks around the school. Today almost all the fencing around the construction areas was removed and we have access to almost all areas of the school grounds back. The stairwell down to the playground is still marked off until the pathway is asphalted. This should be completed in the next couple of weeks. The screening infront of the toilets has been completed and the pathways from the hall path will be opened next week. Next week the soil will arrive and the planning for the planting of the garden beds has begun. Last Friday we met with a contractor for the redoing of the front school pathways and garden area and we are waiting to hear back with pricing and timing of this.
In every classroom we see lots of learning with rich converstaions and questioning throughout. Yesterday I visited the 3/4 class and they were immersed in using magnets to create compasses, lots and lots of questions and excitement when they got it to work. Last week I read a number of amazing stories from the grade 5/6 class as their entries in the What Matters competition. It is so interesting to read from a students personal point of view about what is important to them. Also last week Esther from Prep/1 WY came to visit to show me a wooden table she had designed, planned and constructed using a saw, level and hammer. So much varied learning everywhere.
This Friday is our whole school cross country. It is always wonderful to have parent support but please make sure you are parked by 10.50 as we will be marking off the parking area as children run through this area from the rec ground to the school. The start and finsh points are on the rec ground.
