PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
FROM OUR PRINCIPAL MRS LEANNE SMITH
As we head in to the second half of Term 1 we see the weather start to cool. Please check that your child’s jumpers are clearly marked so we can get them out of lost property and back into the homes where they belong.
DEPARTMENT SITES COVID PLAN for WEEK 6 – 10 Term 1.
Last week the Department released our Covid plan for the next 5 weeks. The details include:
- All adults continue to wear masks inside but can take them off when outside. Children continue to choose to wear a mask if they want to.
- Continued increased COVID-19 safe cleaning including additional disinfecting of high touch point surfaces, increasing ventilation.
- Parents and carers continue to be allowed on school sites. Time spent should be limited. COVID safe measures in place.
- Water fountains may be used with frequent cleaning as a high touch area.
- Limiting of large gatherings of mixed groupings
- LiL within the building continues to be on hold – we encourage all our families to make contact with the Child and Family Learning Centre in New Norfolk.
If you have any questions please talk with your child’s teacher or make contact with the office. We are very fortunate here with only a few recorded cases or close contacts. There are plenty of RAT tests available at the office, if you have used any that have been handed out, please make sure you keep up your supplies at home to use if required.
It is so great to visit classrooms and see all the wonderful learning happening in each class. The Kinder/Prep have been learning all about one another. In Prep/1 they have been looking at the different seasons and the activities we can do during these times. In 2/3 they are focussing on families and how different groups in the school work together. In 3/4 they have been getting to know one another in the class through their writing and finding out about sizzling starts and wow words to engage the readers. The 4/5s are discovering all the different ways in their writing they can engage their audiences and persuade them with arguments and facts.
The 5/6 class are learning all about space. This morning before school Ethan was busy researching facts about the planets and sharing all his learning with other students as they discussed the comparable sizes of the planets within our solar system. In the hall we have all classes learning new dances with the possibility of taking part in the dance event later this year. Lots and lots of learning is shared on Seesaw so keep checking in and talking to your children about what they do at school.
As I am sure you all saw yesterday we have 4 vacancies on our School Association. If you are interested or simply wondering what is involved in being a committee member please chat with any of our current committee members.
