EARLY CHILDHOOD GYMNASTICS EXCURSION
Over the last couple of weeks, we have had our early childhood classes visit the Hobart Gymnastics Academy out at Bridgewater.
We practised many fundamental movement skills and movement sequences! We practised our safe landing positions and shapes on the big blue floor. We climbed ladders, over ramps, under beams, over beams, under mats. We jumped and hopped along, trampolines, hoops, mushrooms and mats. We hung off bars and ropes. We finished each excursion with the massive rainbow parachute! There was a lot of fun to be had at the Hobart Gymnastics Academy!
What is a banana’s favourite gymnastics move? a split! Here are some of our favourite gymnastics moves and activities:
- Vinnie – I liked the tunnels
- Zander – I liked going on the slide
- Deegan – I liked the trampoline!
- Kit – I liked kicking the big rolly ball
- Sid – I loved everything!
- Theo – I liked everything!
- Darcie – I enjoyed the high beam.
- Nova – I liked the jumping on the trampolines
- Anderson – I liked the triangle mats to jump on
- Louis – I liked going through the tunnels
- Bobbee – I liked doing some tricks!
- Nick - I enjoyed going on the trampoline and jumping into the foam pit.
- Silas - Before doing flips, you need to learn how to roll.
- Grace - I enjoyed doing a front roll on the bar and landing into the foam pit.
- Divinia – I liked going to gymnastics because we tried so many different things. My favourite was going in the foam pit.
- Ella – I liked choosing how to jump on the trampoline and I went high!
- Sonny F – Somersaulting into the pit was terrific because I’ve never done it before.
Thank you to coach Leanne, coach Hannah, coach B and coach Kara for helping us through many different activities and for demonstrating how to move in a safe way. Thank you to the parent and carer helpers who volunteered to assist in these excursions!
