THIS WEEK AT MOLESWORTH PRIMARY SCHOOL
The Scientists are coming!!!
Tomorrow we welcome 3 young scientists from UTAS to share with the 3/4. 4/5 and 5/6 classes all about their study and their journey so far. Our students are very lucky to receive these visitors. It is always great to have opportunities for students to think about all the different career pathways available to them.
The Young Tassie Scientists who’ll be visiting us are:
Eve Poland – Potion Maker! (chemist)
Samuel Verne – Illuminating the Darkness (physicist)
Serah Kalpakavadi – Medical doctor turned stroke researcher (medical scientist)
The Power of Water!!
What a weekend we had with so much soaking rain. Sadly our beautiful bridges have suffered from all the water and the bank has become unstable. The bridges have been barricaded off and we are currently meeting with the Department to come up with a plan to bring them back better that ever, for all our students and the so so many more from schools all over the Southern part of the state.
The Grade 3/4 class had a fantastic day at the MEC yesterday and got to experience the joy of an amazing waterfall that rarely flows. Lots of very muddy children went home with huge smiles on their faces. Thanks to Mrs Young and Trish for their amazing alternative program while not being able to access the Team Building course.
Book Week 2022 – 22nd – 26th August
Have you ever dreamt with your eyes open? That is this year’s theme.
All classes have been sharing the short listed books, enjoying the amazing literature, and wondering which one will win.
Keep an eye out to see how our young minds dream with their eyes open. Each class is busy creating a display for our outside notice board and are producing a video to share every day next week via SeeSaw.
Will we see – An elephant tree walking? A glasshouse of stars? Maybe The walking whales or Amira’s suitcase? Perhaps an iceberg or a Stellarphant (almost an elephant but stellar!)?
Check in to Seesaw each day next week to see them all and next time you walk past our notice board stop by and see if you too can dream with your eyes open.
Your voice matters.
At School Association last week we spoke about how best can we communicate with our families. For any thoughts, suggestions, ideas on what works best for you talk with your parent reps or drop us a line. We are always looking for ways to best keep our families connected to their school and their child’s learning.
