PREP AND GRADE 1 MEC EXCURSION
On Wednesday last week the Prep and Grade 1 students had their MEC excursion to kunanyi.
The weather was perfect for a bush walk from the Springs to Fern tree via Rocky Whelan’s Cave and Silver Falls.
The intrepid bushwalkers set off on a slippery wet path to Radford’s Monument where Mrs Macgregor shared the story of a young runner who got lost on the mountain during a storm.
We had our lunch at Rocky Whelan’s Cave whilst Mrs Young told us the story of one of Tasmania’s most “blood thirsty” bush rangers. The children then tried out Rocky’s escape hole.
After a walk through the Fern Glade, we came to the top of Silver Falls and many children replenished their drink bottles with fresh spring water.
Our tired legs finally took us back to Fern Tree and the bus back to school.

We hope you enjoy the children’s recount writing of our excursion and their highlights.
