Our first two weeks back to face to face learning have been filled with enjoyment, excitement and a whole new appreciation for cooperating with others in our learning space. We have been having meaningful discussion in relation to Reconciliation Week and the importance of respecting each other despite our differences. We had the pleasure of having Mrs Smith challenge our thoughts by sharing a book that left each of us wondering who am I? It helped us to realise that we are all from the same place, and made up of the same stuff, but see ourselves as individuals.

We continue to learn about respect by learning about the difference between ‘Welcome to Country’ and ‘Acknowledgement of Country’ and why it is important to acknowledge the relationship between traditional Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander custodians and the land. Together we created a leaf collage using a range of different symbols, colour, line and pattern to represent the parts of the land as part of our own acknowledgement of country.
