CROSS COUNTRY CARNIVAL

TUESDAY 30TH MAY

11:00 AM START

Our Cross Country Carnival is coming up on Tuesday 30th May on the Molesworth Recreation Ground Oval, starting from 11:00 am-12:30 pm with an official welcome by our Sport Leaders.

Students will be walking their cross country event course during PE time in the lead up to this day so they know exactly where their course will be. On the day of the carnival you will see all our colourful cones out and about marking our track. We will put witches hats out and cars won’t be able to access the driveway down to the Recreation Ground Oval while our races are on as our upper students will need to use this area to run through.

The events schedule will start from 11:00 am and conclude by 12:30 pm. From this day a team of Grade 3-6 students will be selected for the SPSSA Divisional B Cross Country Carnival on Tuesday 6th June.

I am most looking forward to our students cheering on each other and pushing themselves to try their best.  Cross Country is a great way for students to display a range of skills and attributes well beyond their long-distance running abilities. Long distance running is a test of resilience, perseverance, grit and determination. Students can apply goal setting skills and demonstrate positive self-talk, being brave and courageous in their efforts! All students will be encouraged to participate with the focus on participation out on the track, which might include, some running, jogging and walking!

Spectators from our school community are most welcome to come along to cheer and encourage our students. All students will need to remain with their coloured groups to ensure we know where they are for their events.

On the day, students are encouraged to bring an item/s of clothing in their house colour to wear during their race. Class teachers will remind students of their house colour and let our new students know what house they are in.

Blue Gum, River Mint and Waratah! Below is the description of each colour and their special meaning for our school community:
